Event Description

This walk will take place in the Sobral de Monte Agraço area, more specifically in Sapataria. It will be a rural walk, 11 kilometres long, and at the end we'll be celebrating the 5th anniversary of Caminhando.pt! Another event not to be missed!

River Sizandro

The River Sizandro, which runs through the municipality of Sobral de Monte Agraço, rises in the parish of Sapataria, in the town of Sizandros. It is 35 kilometres long and is made up of numerous bridges (pedestrian, road and railway), including the Roman bridge in the town of Gozundeira.

The Church of Our Lady of Purification

The Sapataria Church, which was founded in ancient times, preserves its Manueline portal and is notable for its beautiful 17th-century tile cladding.

Atalaia Mills

In the middle of Monte da Atalaia, there are two windmills set in a fascinating landscape. A curious fact is that they were both struck by lightning. The newer windmill is around 50 years old and the older one, shaped like a barrel, is estimated to be over 150 years old. From the top of this authentic natural viewpoint we have a 360º view.
