Event Description

In this activity proposal, we'll walk along the “famous” Paiva Walkways and in the beautiful region of Arouca and Sever do Vouga. This weekend we will of course have the opportunity to try the best flavours of the local cuisine. Come and join us!

Saturday 13th May

The Paiva Walkways

The Paiva Walkways are located on the left bank of the River Paiva, in the municipality of Arouca, in the district of Aveiro. It's 8 kilometres long and offers an “untouched” walk, surrounded by landscapes of unparalleled beauty, in an authentic natural sanctuary, next to whitewater descents, quartz crystals and endangered species in Europe. The route stretches between the river beaches of Areinho and Espiunca, with Vau beach in between. A journey through biology, geology and archaeology that is sure to stay in the heart, soul and mind of any nature lover.

Lunch will be in the form of a picnic, which is the responsibility of each participant

Cabreia and Braçal Mines“ Walk”

Located in the parish of Silva Escura, where there is an abundance of watercourses. The unevenness of the terrain, combined with huge torrents of water and a rich local flora, have produced bucolic spaces in which the poetry of nature has been complemented by human will. The ultimate symbol of nature's whimsy is the Cabreia Waterfall, where the waters of the Mau River gain speed and force before crashing down a rocky slope.

Undoubtedly beautiful and relaxing, the Cabreia Waterfall can offer its visitors a bit of everything: the freshness caused by the water falling into the river basin, the dense vegetation that has been tidied up by the restoration project, the nooks and crannies that invite more romantic feelings, the tables and benches that cater for those who want to combine relaxation with gastronomic flavours.
