This proposed walk starts at the Moita dos Ferreiros Collective Headquarters, a stone's throw from Lourinhã and Bombarral. This walk is part of the 3rd Corn Pops Festival and will include many points of interest, such as the Alto dos Moinhos da Pinhoa, the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Misericórdia and a guided tour of the Moinho do Boneco mill, where we will learn about the techniques and process of grinding corn. With surroundings that stretch from the Serra de Montejunto to the sea on the coast of Peniche, we'll also have time for a tasting of the producer's wines. At the end we can have lunch at the festival to savour the region's famous “corn porridge”. Another event not to be missed!

At the end of the walk, those interested will be able to have lunch (old-fashioned fried meat or fried fish, accompanied by rice and sautéed vegetables and fried corn porridge, drink and dessert (corn porridge). Corn Porridge Festival

The Papas de Milho Festival is a gastronomic festival that aims to promote and publicise our cuisine. Papas de Milho (corn porridge) was used mainly by people from the countryside who needed sustenance for long days of work. In Moita dos Ferreiros, because it is mostly agricultural land with many vineyards, corn porridge was eaten with a sweet on top, which looks like liquid caramel and is made from grape juice.
