This will be Caminhando's Christmas walk, where we invite everyone to dress up as “Father and Mother Christmas” and bring colour and joy to the morning of December 1st. After the walk we'll have our traditional Christmas lunch.

This proposed walk will take in part of the western area, where we'll enjoy sweeping views of the Serra de Montejunto, as well as its traditional windmills. Highlights include the Milagres Sanctuary and, for those who love them, four swings: Milagres Swing, Montijo, Chã and Fetais.

Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles

This shrine to Our Lady of Miracles is located between Torres Vedras and Sobral de Monte Agraço, now in the União de Freguesias de Dois Portos e Runa, on a small, almost isolated hill in the village of Milheiros.
The story goes that in 1578 a little shepherd girl was crying with thirst and Our Lady appeared to her, digging a small pit from which water began to flow to quench her thirst. The people recognised this miracle and built a chapel to Our Lady of Miracles nearby, on the top of the hill, which was also known as Our Lady of the Holy Fountain or Holy Water.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, this shrine was visited a lot, with a candle from Lisbon even coming, and the chapel was transformed and greatly improved with paintings and tiles. This chapel has a very original galilee (a covered structure that protects the entrance to a temple).
Various festivals are held there, the main one being Ascension Thursday. Some neighbouring towns hold their festivals there on Sundays in August and September. A large fair was also held there at the beginning of September.
This sanctuary remains in an isolated location, despite having excellent views of this part of Extremadura, and has already been broken into and had its images stolen (the one of Our Lady was from the 17th century), valuable ex-votos and the bronze bell.
