Event Description
This proposed hike starts at the Moinho de Baixo beach car park in Meco, runs along several beaches in the area towards Cabo Espichel and makes several forays into the forest and pine forest that characterise this coastline, which is still part of the Arrábida Natural Park. We'll pass through places of great natural beauty, between climbs and descents, with very pleasant scenery of some little-known beaches.
Rebenta Bois Beach:
A Rebenta Bois Beach or Arrebenta Bois BeachThe beach is small and shell-shaped. The distance between the side cliffs is only about 25 metres. There are submerged rocks all around the bathing area. Even in this small cove, the waters are rough. The beach is sheltered from the wind and is an ideal spot for a holiday in peace and privacy.
Bento Beach:
A Pipa Beachalso known as Bento BeachThe beach has two distinct pockets of sand, separated by a cliff edge with rock formations at the base. It is bordered to the north by a long row of rocks. At high tide, only the northern beach remains partially submerged. This is a remote beach, one of the secrets of the Sesimbra coastline. Access is via a path that leads to the south beach, near the mouth of the Crieira Stream and Pipa Stream. The two streams merge into one, just over 100 metres from the beach.
