Event Description

This walk starts in Aldeia Galega and follows paths and trails through fertile vineyards and cultivated areas, including Ribafira, Sobreiros, Pereiro de Palhacana, among the many farms and couples that bring this magnificent landscape in the municipality of Alenquer to life.

Galician Village

It was already a parish in 1259, belonging to the term of Alenquer. Its patron saint is Our Lady of Pleasures. It has an area of 19 km². It is bordered to the north by the municipality of Torres Vedras and the parishes of Vila Verde dos Francos and Ventosa; to the south by the parishes of Pereiro de Palhacana; to the east by the parishes of Aldeia Gavinha and Ribafria and to the west by the municipality of Torres Vedras. It was once, and perhaps still is, the richest wine production centre in the municipality.

The festivities in honour of the patron saint (Nossa Sra da Conceição) take place on the first weekend of June. In organising them, the parish counts on the collaboration of the Aldeia Galega Recreational and Cultural Club, founded in 1983.
