Sunset Picnic Circuit

This late afternoon walk starts next to the Capuchos Convent, follows trails of great natural beauty and excellent scenery, almost always with the beaches of Costa da Caparica and the Atlantic Ocean on our horizon! Come along and marvel at these wonders just outside Lisbon.

The event will start with a short walk, then there will be time and space for those who want to take a dip in the sea, followed by a picnic shared by all the participants, which will take place at the Miradouro dos Capuchos, where we will watch the sunset. The event organisers will be responsible for the drinks: white and red wine, juices and water.

The Capuchin Convent:

The Capuchos Convent, one of Almada's most beautiful and romantic monuments, is located on the Costa da Caparica. The complex was built in 1558 by Lourenço Pires de Távora, 4th Lord of the House and Morgado da Caparica, and is modestly built but very elegant.
Severely shaken by the destructive force of the earthquake of 1 November 1755, the convent was almost completely destroyed, with only the front remaining. Even so, it is possible to remember its primitive appearance.
The Capuchos Convent has been a favoured venue for important cultural events, most notably the Capuchos International Music Festival.
