In this special event, we will walk through areas where French soldiers and Luso-British troops travelled during the 3rd French invasions, where it is easy to find important heritage remains from that period. We'll have the opportunity to walk around some of these forts with beautiful surrounding landscapes, ranging from the Serra de Montejunto to the fertile land of the Lezíria to the south of the Tagus, as well as the western area. We'll also visit the beautiful Quinta de Subserra, a municipal heritage site where wine is still produced. At the end of the event there will be a social lunch, a way of celebrating another anniversary with joy and good humour. Another event not to be missed!

Subserra Municipal Farm

Founded in the 17th century, its history was, for more than three centuries, the history of the manor house and its noble owners. The complex is made up of a manor house, the Chapel of São José (founded in 1633, it has 17th century tiles inside and an oil painting of the high altar by Bento Coelho da Silveira), agricultural facilities (cellars and barns) and gardens (with a geometric design), a fresco house and a rocaille fountain of great artistic interest. In 1980, Vila Franca de Xira Municipal Council acquired the estate, making public a precious heritage of the municipality, which has been put to recreational, social and cultural use.

The buffet lunch will be at a local restaurant for €11 (to be paid directly to the restaurant on the day).
