In this event, we'll start our walk in Assafora and we'll walk along various rural paths and trails, crossing hills, hanging valleys, beaches and excellent sea and countryside landscapes, especially Praia da Foz do Lizandro, Praia de São Julião and Samarra. Assafora

Assafora is a village in the parish of São João das Lampas. It is about 15 kilometres from Sintra and is part of the Sintra - Cascais Natural Park. It is a rustic village with a large population, extensive and very dispersed. Most of the houses are surrounded by vegetable gardens, storage houses, farm implements, wine presses and threshing floors, which give it its rural character. Assafora has plenty of places of interest, such as the lagoon, the pine forest and the proximity of the Samarra and São Julião beaches...

Alguns dos famosos Moinhos e fontes da zona ainda se encontram em bom estado de conservação e são sempre um bom pretexto para um passeio pela zona.

São Julião Beach

Praia de São Julião belongs to the municipalities of Mafra (parish of Carvoeira) and Sintra. With a long stretch of sand cut out by cliffs, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Because it is very exposed to swells, it is part of the itinerary for surfers and bodyboarders, especially when they are looking for waves on the calmest days of summer.

Samarra Beach

Praia da Samarra beach is located in a narrow cove facing north-west, formed by a sharp indentation in the cliff. The sand, although not very long, is reasonably wide. A Samarra Stream knows its mouth here. Numerous pebbles can be found along its bed. A stone-walled dwelling at the foot of the cliff adds a touch of rustic urbanism to the landscape.
