Event Description

This walk starts at the Monserrate Palace car park. From there we'll follow the slopes of the Tapada de Monserrate, following the water trail, where we'll pass several lakes and lagoons, especially the Lagoa dos Mosqueiros, as well as climbing Mount Rodel with a fantastic view of the coast and the Serra de Sintra. Come and spend another beautiful morning with us.

Mount Rodel

Mount Rodel is also called Monte RodeloMonte Rodel is actually two pyramidal granite agglomerations, located practically in the centre of the Serra de Sintra, with a privileged view over the northern slope and the Atlantic Ocean. but the panorama from the top is truly spectacular. Monte Rodel is not one of the highest points in the mountains, but it is an excellent viewpoint over Monserrate Palace and the Colares valley and floodplain.

During our walk we'll have the chance to see some waterfalls, lakes, viewpoints, farms and historic palaces, such as Monserrate. Also noteworthy for its beauty is the Mosqueiros Lagoon, as well as the area around the Capuchos Convent.
