Event details

Event Description

Photography has become increasingly accessible to everyone. Our aim with this walk is to photograph large spaces and details, showing the most beautiful things we can find in nature. Photographer António Rendeiro will give you the support and help you need in this area of nature photography so that you can get the most out of this walk. It will be a great opportunity to photograph what remains of this mountain range that has been transformed over the years and still manages to amaze us with its beauty.

We'll concentrate the start of our route at the Capuchos crossroads, where we'll leave the cars. We begin the only steep climb of our route, which is around 1.5 kilometres long. We pass the Cruz Alta, a memorial stone to the 25 victims of the fire, and arrive at the Monge Geodesic Mark, one of the three highest points in the mountains at 491 metres. At the same spot we visit the Tholos do Monge, a 50-century-old tomb. After this stop by the Geodesic Mark, we'll enter an area with vegetation very typical of the mountains, where we'll begin our descent.

We'll come across a small building on the path that is completely covered by vegetation and spaces that are very characteristic of the Serra in terms of vegetation. It's an ideal place to photograph the landscape and details of a very rich native forest, one of the last strongholds of native forest in the Serra de Sintra. At the end of this route we'll reach the road that links Capuchos to Colares. A short rest by a fountain and after 100 metres on this tarmac road we'll rejoin the paths that run through the Serra, this time in the direction of the Capuchos Convent. We follow the road to the crossroads and reach the end of the walk.

Another event not to be missed!
