Caramulo Villages Route and climb to Alto das Pinoucas

On this 16-kilometre circular route, we'll have the opportunity to visit some of the best-preserved villages in the Serra do Caramulo. We'll set off from the village of Varzielas, next to St Peter's Church, and from there we'll climb up to Alto das Pinoucas where we'll be treated to a fabulous view over the Besteiros Valley and the town of Caramulo. The village and gardens of Bezerreira will be our next destination. The gardens at the foot of the mountain are fertile, sheltered meadows where vegetables are grown. They are famous throughout the parish for always being green and lush and are the gateway to the typical mountain village, mostly made of granite. Then at the end of the trail we'll pass the banks of the Corga da Ribeira and the Águeda river, where you can enjoy the lush landscape characteristic of mountain rivers.
