Event Description
In this event we'll walk through some of Lisbon's great green spaces, starting next to the urban gardens of Quinta da Granja, passing by Quinta das Conchas in Lumiar, among many other pleasant places to enjoy. After all, the city isn't just a concrete jungle, there are still places worth walking through. Come and discover or rediscover Lisbon with us!
Quinta da Granja
Quinta da Granja still stands proudly in Benfica. It's around 11 hectares of cultivated land, with a complex of houses at the top of the hill, surrounded by buildings and streets on all sides. The farm dates back to the late 17th century, it's old and has every right to be where it is without anyone bothering it. It once had vines, then sheep, now just cereals.
Quinta de Nossa Senhora da Paz
Quinta de Nossa Senhora da Paz is part of a vast historical/artistic heritage made up of the farms and palaces of Paço do Lumiar. As well as having its lake and fountain restored, the garden now has new street furniture, a lighting network, a maintenance circuit and table tennis equipment.
Quinta das Conchas
Designed and developed in the mid-16th century by Afonso de Torres, it is one of the most beautiful estates left in Lisbon. It has two distinct areas: the lower part has a large garden area containing a multi-sports arena, and the upper part consists of relatively dense woodland. An open area with 24 hectares of lawns and woodland, it is a place of high scenic value and remarkable ecological value, offering visitors a picnic area, children's playground, forest paths with good conditions for cross-country running and off-road cycling.
