This route takes us from the village of Pedreiras to the top of the Serra do Risco cliff. Once past the imposing cliff that juts out over the ocean and is full of rocky trails and thick vegetation, we'll head down to the lowest area, Vale do Risco. Another event not to be missed!

The Serra do Risco:

The Serra do Risco cliff is the highest point on the Portuguese mainland coast (380 metres at Píncaro, almost plummeting to the sea) and is the highest limestone coastal escarpment in Europe. Its distinctive appearance, especially when seen in profile, led Sebastião da Gama, a Portuguese poet and teacher born in Azeitão, to describe Serra do Risco in this way: "The mountain has the air of a wave that advances impetuously and suddenly stands and sculpts itself in the air; it's a wave of stone and scrub, it's the fossil of a wave".

After beating the trail along the Risco cliff between karst trails and reaching the geodesic landmark, we return on a gentle, panoramic descent with Sesimbra Castle in the distance and the entire bay from Cape Espichel to the beaches of Costa da Caparica, back to our meeting point. All this always in full communion with the surrounding nature.
