Event Description

In this activity, we'll be hiking in the best scenery on São Miguel Island in the Azores, taking in some of the island's most scenic routes, as well as visiting the main sites of this marvellous island. Come along with us!

TIME: Departure from Lisbon on a SATA flight at 8.15am on 1st October 2026
RETURN: Arrival in Lisbon at 7.15pm on 5th October 2026

Suggestion note: There will be suggestions for a typical lunch in Furnas (traditional stew); a visit to Terra Nostra Park; Poça Dona Beija or a short walk by the Furna Lagoons. On the last day we'll suggest lunch at the São Miguel Agricultural Association Restaurant (famous steak, and nowadays it's said that anyone who goes to São Miguel and doesn't eat here is like going to Rome and not seeing the Pope!)

The hiking programmes may be subject to changes due to weather conditions.
