Event Description

This hiking trip consists of walking along one of the most beautiful coastal trails in the world, the Fishermen's Trail on the Costa Vicentina. We'll do it in two stages: one linking Porto Covo to Aljezur, over almost 100 kilometres (4 days) and the other from Aljezur to Cape St Vincent (3 days). Another event not to be missed!

Rota Vicentina - Fishermen's Trail:

Always by the sea, following the paths used by locals to access the beaches and fishing grounds. It's a single track The trail is only walkable, along the cliffs, with lots of sand and therefore more demanding from a physical point of view. A challenge of permanent contact with the sea wind, the harshness of the coastal landscape and the presence of wild and persistent nature.

Day 1 - Porto Covo - Vila Nova de Milfontes - 25kms

Here are some points of interest: Vila de Porto Covo, Praia dos Buizinhos, Praia da Baía de Porto Covo, Praia da Engardaceira, Praia do Sissal, Ilha do Pessegueiro, Forte do Pessegueiro, Praia do Queimado, Praia dos Aivados, Praia da Cruz, Praia do Malhão, Praia da Angra da Barrela, Praia da Angra da Vaca, Praia do Burdo, Praia da Angra da Cerva, Porto das Barcas, Praia do Patacho, Praia do Carreiro da Fazenda, Praia do Farol, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Rio Mira and Praia das Furnas.

Day 2 - Vila Nova de Milfontes - Porto das Barcas (Zambujeira do Mar) - 25kms

Here are some points of interest: Praia da Angra do Cozinhadouro, Praia da Angra do Navio do Trigo, Praia do Cavalo, Praia do Brejo Largo, Praia dos Picos, Praia da Angra do Travesso, Praia da Angra das Melancias, Praia da Foz dos Ouriços, Praia do Almograve, Praia da Poça do Buraco, Praia dos Carriços, Praia da Barca Grande, Lapa das Pombas fishing harbour, Praia do Cão, Praia da Laginha, Praia do Cavaleiro, Cabo Sardão, Praia do Creleizão and Porto das Barcas.

Day 3 - Porto das Barcas (Zambujeira do Mar) - Odeceixe- 25kms

Here are some points of interest: Zambujeira do Mar Beach, Alteirinhos Beach, Costas do Lajão Beach, Alvorião Beach, Carvalhal Beach, Machados Beach, Amália Beach, Azenha do Mar Beach, Ribeira de Seixe and Odeceixe.

Day 4 - Odeceixe Aljezur - 22kms

Here are some points of interest: Odeceixe Beach, Adegas Beach (naturism), Quebrada Beach, Esteveira Beach, Samouqueira Beach, Barradinha Beach, Vale dos Homens Beach, Carreagem Beach and Aljezur.
