Event Description

This walk starts at the Porto Novo beach car park. From this beautiful beach, where the Alcabrichel River flows, we'll head inland, passing through the beautiful and majestic valley of the aforementioned river, to Fonte dos Frades, which belongs to the Termas do Vimeiro. We'll continue on our way past Maceira and from there to the coastline, which will take us back to our point of origin. We'll be travelling through places of great natural beauty, between climbs and descents, with very pleasant scenery of mountains, valleys and, above all, plenty of sea.

Porto Novo Beach:

Porto Novo beach, where the Alcabrichel river flows, is located on the edge of a paradisiacal valley, between cliffs of luxuriant vegetation, where there are caves with prehistoric remains. A former fishing harbour, this beach is also known for having been the landing place for the British troops who fought in the Battle of Vimeiro, during the first French invasion'.
