Event Description

At this event we will walk in an area where there is no shortage of places of interest, such as the Lapiás Field of Granja dos Serrões, the Anços Waterfalls, and others like the Segueteira Fountain. Another event not to be missed!

Serrões Farm:

In karst geomorphology, the Lapias are the remnants of limestone dissolution. They show the detailed stratigraphic composition. Karst erosion results from the dissolution of the carbonate with the gasocarbon rainwater. At the surface of the limestone massif, the lapias constitute the remnants of the strata. Between the bodies of lapias remains the non-soluble clay residue, constituting the terrarosa. The lapi fields of Granja dos Serrões are a Natural Park recognised by the authorities. The monumentality is scientifically recognised by the National Geographic Society and by all the universities in the Lisbon area.

Anços Waterfall:

The Mourão River Waterfalls are located in the Ribeira do Mourão valley, between the villages of Anços and Maceira, which belong to the parish of Montelavar (Sintra municipality). The Anços Waterfall is set in a landscape of indescribable beauty, surrounded by woods and crags, in an authentic natural retreat.
