Event Description
This walk starts at Praça Duques de Palmela, in Santana, and from there follows roads, rural paths and trails of enormous beauty towards the sea and the imposing Serra do Risco, in the heart of the Arrábida Natural Park. We'll be treated to excellent views of Sesimbra, its castle and houses, as well as the imposing cliffs with sweeping views of the sea and mountains. If necessary, there will be time for a well-deserved swim before the demanding climb back to our starting point. Another event not to be missed!
The Cova Pebble:
O Cova Pebble Calhau da Cova is a small bay, which many years ago served as a shelter for various fishing boats and also as accommodation for fishermen, who occupied places near small coves. Calhau da Cova is protected to the north by the cliffs of Serra do Risco, the highest in continental Europe at 381 metres. It's a breathtaking landscape in the face of Mother Nature's magnificence.
Along our route, we will also be able to see the ruins of abandoned buildings and the diverse fauna and flora. Calm, transparent waters await us, inviting you to take a refreshing dip. Towards the middle of the route, there is a steep incline, with a certain degree of difficulty, but which is compensated for by the surrounding landscape.
