In this event we'll be able to experience some different sensations such as arriving at Praia das Maçãs by tram, a pleasant circular walk, much of it enjoying the presence of the sea, between beaches, a dip in the Azenhas do Mar swimming pool or in the sea, and then a return to Sintra, once again on board the Sintra Tram! A unique event, come and have fun. This is a programme for the whole family!

Note: This event can only be done from the tram's arrival point at Praia das Maças

Sintra Tram:

The Sintra tram, one of the region's ex-libris, was built in 1904 to fulfil the need to connect the town to Praia das Maçãs. Today it serves as tourist transport and continues to link the town to Praia das Maçãs.

There are almost 13 kilometres of winding road between the mountains and the sea, a journey that lasts around 45 minutes and where passengers can enjoy open or closed carriages.

Apple Beach:

The name of this beach comes from the fact that the river that flows into it once ran between apple orchards, so when the fruit was ripe, it would fall into the water and end up on the beach. Around the 250 metre stretch of sand, several shops have set up, from restaurants to cafés and bars, as well as local craft shops, so the place has become a meeting point for locals, who take advantage of its terraces and excellent food, summer or winter. Next to the beach, there is a saltwater swimming pool, a children's playground and space for picnics. At the ends of the beach, on both the left and right sides, there are slabs/rocks where you can fish with some stability.
