Bonito Green Park
Located in the north of the municipality, the Bonito Green Park is the largest green area in the municipality. It is made up of a reservoir and a vast green space. Following its requalification (1st phase) in May 2013, it has become the county's recreational and leisure centre of excellence. It is the ideal place to enjoy various outdoor activities, such as walking and cycling. Sport fishing activities take place in the reservoir.
Entroncamento - the land of phenomena
Entroncamento is commonly known in Portugal as ‘the land of phenomena’. According to popular reports, curious, extraordinary or even fantastic events have taken place since its beginnings, which still receive some coverage from the media. media.
A plausible origin for this name dates back to the 1950s, when a local shopkeeper put a giant or ‘phenomenal’ pumpkin in his shop window to attract the attention of passers-by. The pumpkin, bought by a farmer from the neighbouring town of Golegã, weighed around 50 kg. Over the following years, other so-called ‘phenomenal’ vegetables and fruit were displayed in the window, either because of their size or because of their suggestive, often anthropomorphic, shapes, and the story spread and acquired its current dimensions.
Entroncamento and the National Railway Museum
The National Railway Museum is a space for collective experience, dialogue and the sharing of knowledge, which is open to everyone as a place for reflection and experimentation with the relationship between cultural heritage and the historical, symbolic and technological role of rail transport in Portugal. This is a museum with an international scope, which, in telling the story of the railway in Portugal, takes us back to a unique perspective on the history of Europe and the world. Technique, art and science intersect with the narratives of societies, groups and individuals. The railway opened up new territories, created cities, connected more or less distant communities, created and sustained new offers and needs, and changed the way we see the world.
