Event Description
In this event we will walk around the village of Moledo, in the municipality of Lourinhã, and follow some of the paths that legends associate with the story of Pedro and Inês de Castro. The place names of these villages are justified by different legends, from D. Pedro commanding his horse to "walk at a pace", in Paço; to giving it a drink from a fountain in Cesaredas, the Fonte Real; and not being able to help a resident because "it was a dry feather", in Pena Seca Another event not to be missed!
In the footsteps of Pedro and Inês de Castro
The walk starts in the village of Moledo, then follows the stream of São Domingos to the Rio da Cruz and from there continues to the village of São Bartolomeu dos Galegos. On the way, we come across a cylindrical cross (the only one in the municipality), before arriving at Quinta da Fonte Real. We continue in the direction of the village of Paço - whose place name is related to the story of Pedro and Inês - climbing the slopes of Cesaredas to Pena Seca, passing close to the viewpoint. We'll also pass a lava field and an old lime kiln, continuing on our way back to Moledo.
