In this event we're going to take advantage of the morning to go on a walk that will take us up several staircases totalling 4,000 steps, in a real rollercoaster exercise that will take us past places of undeniable interest such as viewpoints, squares, staircases, courtyards, some of them real treasures of our city The walk will also take us through typical neighbourhoods such as Alfama, Bica. Mouraria and Bairro Alto. From the Miradouro da Sra do Monte to the Escadinhas do Quebra Costas will be another great adventure! Naturally, we'll take advantage of the opportunity to visit these neighbourhoods and give you some cultural notes on these places along the 10-kilometre route. Casa dos Bicos

Casa dos Bicos was probably built in 1522 by order of Brás de Albuquerque (1500-1580), son of the governor of India Afonso de Albuquerque (1453-1515), according to a project attributed to the architect Francisco de Arruda. Although much transformed, it is Lisbon's most important Renaissance residence, combining a diamond façade similar to other civil constructions in Italy or Spain, such as the Diamond Palace in Ferrara or the Palace of the Dukes of Infantado in Guadalajara, with an eclectic taste that included Mudejar tiles and other prestigious artistic productions. Following the 1755 earthquake, the upper floors were completely destroyed.

São Carlos National Theatre

The theatre was inaugurated on 30 June 1793 by Prince Regent João to replace the Tejo Opera House, which was destroyed in the 1755 earthquake, according to a project by architect José da Costa e Silva. The inauguration took place with the The Ballerina Lover by Domenico Cimarosa. The theatre is located in the historic centre of Lisbon, in the Chiado area. In the same square, opposite the theatre, one of the most important figures in Portuguese poetry, Fernando Pessoa, was born.

Torel Garden

The name comes from a family, probably of Dutch origin, who lived there. In 1886, Manuel de Castro Guimarães had a mansion built with a garden on the hillside, to a design by José Luís Monteiro. The palace was sold to the State in 1927 to house the Criminal Investigation Police, and the garden was given to Lisbon City Council in exchange for the construction of an extension to the palace for use by the police.
