Event Description
The aim of this activity is to drive along the legendary N2, honoured by various national and international publications as the longest road in Portugal and which crosses the whole of Portugal. From Chaves to Faro, in two stages, there are 738 kilometres, 36 municipalities, on a route of rare beauty, vertiginous through the backbone of Portugal, passing through the countryside and stopping in some villages. Come along, it's going to be a different journey. Come with us on another event full of nature and beautiful landscapes not to be missed!
TIME: Departure from Lisbon at 7.15am
LOCATION: Sete Rios (in front of the Zoo) and Gare do Oriente (Bus Terminal) - 7.30am
RETURN: Arrival in Lisbon at 8.30pm

Day 1 - 19th May 2022
Departure by coach from Lisbon towards the north, arriving at the Palace HotelVidago*****. Lunch in the hotel's emblematic restaurant with the signature of Chef Vitor Marques, holder of 1 Michelin star. In the afternoon, departure in the direction of Chaves and stop by the E.N.2 Mythical Landmark. With a local guide, visit the Historic Centre of Chaves on a walking route that ends next to the Trajano Bridge. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2 - 20th May 2022
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards Pedras Salgadas, Vila Pouca de Aguiar and Vilarinho da Samarda, arriving in Vila Real. Here we visit the Cathedral, the emblematic monument of Gothic architecture in Trás-os-Montes, and Diogo Cão's house (outside), the birthplace of the 15th century Portuguese navigator. Lunch. Continue through vineyards and wineries in the UNESCO World Heritage landscape and arrive in Régua. Visit to the Douro Museum. Continue to Castro D'aire to visit the Montemor e Paiva Interpretation and Information Centre, housed in the Mendonças Manor House... Departure towards Vale de Azia and Termas do Carvalhal. Arrival at the Hotel Grão Vasco in Viseu. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 3 - 21st May 2022
Buffet breakfast. Start of the guided walking tour of Viseu, passing through the Historic Centre and the Cathedral with its majestic façade and two towers. Departure towards Tondela and arrival in Santa Comba Dão. Lunch. Continue on to Vimieiro, the birthplace of statesman António de Oliveira Salazar, passing the house where Salazar was born and arriving at kilometre 211, where National 2 is submerged by the Aguieira dam, making it necessary to take the IP3 until we come across the river, the streams, mills and watermills, passing the Livraria do Mondego. Arrival in Gois and Sertã. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 - 22nd May 2022
Buffet breakfast. Departure in the direction of the Historic Centre of Abrantes with a visit to the garden of the Republic, Largo João de Deus and the Castle/Fortress... Continue to Ponte de Sor, perhaps one of the largest cork oak forests in the world and visit the Cultural Centre, where you can admire the largest panel with around 400,000 cork stoppers, awarded by Guinness as the largest cork mosaic in the world. Lunch. Departure in the direction of Mora and a visit to Europe's largest freshwater aquarium, where you can see the diversity of freshwater ecosystems. We continue on to Brocas and visit the sanctuary of Our Lady of Brocas, with a tour inside. Here, the 16th and 17th century tile panels stand out. Departure at the end of the day in the direction of our departure points.
