Albarquel Urban Park
Inaugurated in May 2008, the park is a recent green space in the city of Setúbal. Next to the foothills of the Arrábida mountain range, it is close to the river, offering a beautiful view of the Sado estuary and Tróia. It is a popular spot. The approximately four hectares are equipped with a café-bar with terrace, restaurant, children's playground and an exhibition gallery. There is a viewpoint with a restaurant and it is possible to cycle around the park and there is a car park.

Albarquel Fort

The Albarquel Fort corresponds to the paradigm of Portuguese 17th century military architecture of the period. It is a fortified construction with a trapezoidal plan and a two-storey building. This building also had a small bastion at the south-east apex and a sentry box to the south.

The fort is in the “floor style”, which is characterised by its lack of decoration, a sober and imposing type of military construction. Of the building's few adornments, the friezes, entablatures, gargoyles and the detail of the exterior staircase stand out.
