Event details

Event Description

Photography has become increasingly accessible to everyone. Our aim with this walk is to photograph the characteristic spaces of a very characteristic town like Sintra. In addition to the frames we'll be able to capture with the houses enveloped in the green of the mountains, we'll have plenty of opportunities to capture details of an ancient town such as the village of Sintra.

“With photographer António Rendeiro you'll have the support and help you need in this area of nature and urban landscape photography so that you can get the most out of this walk dedicated to photography. It will be a great opportunity to photograph the beauty of the town of Sintra.”.

Before starting our walk, we can enjoy a coffee and sample the characteristic sweets (queijadas, travesseiros, etc.) at one of Sintra's oldest pastry shops, Pastelaria Gregório, founded in the 19th century. This way, we ingest some energy that will help us throughout the journey. We start our descent through the middle of the town towards the CP station. We pass the old prison, now the headquarters of a group of Scouts, and head towards the Sintra Town Hall, a centenary building built between 1906 and 1909 on the site of an old chapel. We continue downhill and pass Rua da Ribeira with a privileged view of the mountains. We continue through the streets and alleys of the town until we reach the Lord Byron Stairs, passing the Lawrences restaurant immortalised by the Mayans. We continued walking and taking photographs past the National Palace of Sintra towards the entrance to the Garden of Liberty. We entered the garden, taking the opportunity to admire and photograph much of the flora that exists in the Serra and is found in this park. We leave through one of the gates at the top of the park and re-enter one of the oldest parts of the town, where we can take pictures of the landscape, including the Moorish Castle and the National Palace of Sintra. At this final stage of the route we reach our destination next to Gregório's Pastry Shop.

Another event not to be missed!
