On this guided tour proposed by Caminhando, we'll get to know, through a specialised guide, the house where the great fado singer Amália Rodrigues lived. The Amália Rodrigues House-Museum was inaugurated on 23 July 2001, fulfilling one of Amália's wishes: to open her home to the public and share her most personal and intimate side with them. In fact, here you can get to know the singer better, take a real journey into the life of Amália Rodrigues and recreate her day-to-day life: you can see her stage dresses and jewellery, the balandraus she wore around the house and other personal objects, her awards and honours, her memories, among other curiosities.

The house is built on four levels, with the ground floor being the entrance floor, the 1st and 2nd floors occupied by the main programme of the house, and the attic, a space for museum reserves and storage. The rear garden, with no direct access from the street, is on a level between the ground floor and the first floor. The current layout maintains the same occupation as when she lived there and corresponds to the circuit that can be visited by the public, who can share her closeness and intimacy by visiting the lounge and dining room on the 1st floor or the bedrooms and sitting rooms on the upper floor, with all the original furniture and decoration untouched, as if it were a crystallised time and the presence of the hostess would materialise at any moment.
