O Walking is a registered trade mark for the services provided by the company José António Barão Machado Rodrigues, Nº Id. Fiscal 196840040, and has No. 533/2015 in the National Register of Tourist Entertainment Agents and No. 6709 in the National Register of Travel and Tourism Agencies.
The information in this section is intended to regulate the relationship between the Walking and its clients, who, when contracting our tourist entertainment services, must be aware of and accept these conditions. These general conditions may be supplemented by more detailed or specific ones, even as a result of the updating of certain rules or specific requirements to be observed for the greater convenience and safety of each event.
Proposals for services to be provided, such as walks, visits, among others, with regard to the description of the event, price, meeting place, among other information, are only valid for each specific activity (taking place on a specific date), as other similar events may take place, but with other conditions. Therefore, the description of each event should always be consulted beforehand on the organisation's website. Walking.
Any changes to what was initially described will always be communicated as soon as possible, and when possible even before the client has registered. We always endeavour, as far as possible, to provide a detailed description of each event, so that all interested parties are properly informed about the characteristics of each activity. The participants in each event proposed by Walking You should therefore read the programme carefully.
To register for any activity offered by Walking by filling in the details requested on our Registration / Booking form, you are purchasing a service and agreeing to the General and Specific Conditions of the activity.
After making the necessary enrolment, the customer undertakes to pay José António Rodrigues (Walking) the value determined for all the services to be provided in the activity/event in question.
Payment must always be made in advance by bank transfer to the NIB indicated at the enrolment stage or by MBWAY. Proof of payment should be sent to the following e-mail address inscricoes@caminhando.pt until 4.30pm the day before the event takes place. Only this condition guarantees activation of Personal Accident Insurance.
Payments for journeys lasting more than 24 hours must be made as follows:
- Trips in mainland Portugal must be fully paid up to 15 days before the date of the trip.
- Trips outside mainland Portugal must be fully paid up to 45 days before the trip takes place.
- Different deadlines may be set depending on each journey
O Walking will always try to carry out the planned activities, however, as we all know, there are situations to which we may be totally oblivious and which force us to change or even cancel an event. We can assure you of one thing: we will do everything we can to minimise the disruption caused.
O Walking reserves the right to cancel or change the proposed events in situations such as:
- The minimum safety conditions for the event do not exist;
- In adverse weather conditions;
- Legal conditions that prevent the event from taking place, beyond the control of Caminhando
- Not having the minimum number of participants needed to hold the event;
- Sudden illness or force majeure of any of the monitors assigned to the event
- In the case of events lasting longer than 24 hours (specific to the Travel Agency), as a result of adverse weather conditions or any other occurrences that make it impossible to carry out a particular route or visit, these will be altered or replaced by others, and the client cannot jeopardise the full realisation of the event, as they are the result of force majeure, which is beyond everyone's control.
In the event of the event not taking place on the scheduled date, the Walking will reschedule the event for a new date. If the registered client is unable to attend on the new date, they will be given the opportunity to choose another event of equal or greater value.
In the case of Boat tripsIf the event does not take place on the scheduled date, due to adverse weather conditions such as the state of the sea, rain, wind, etc., the client may opt for another event at a later date to be agreed. If it is impossible to repeat the event, the client may use the amount for any other event.
For events lasting less than 24 hours
In the event of a cancellation by the client, they will receive a full refund if they do so up to 72 hours before the start of the event. If the event is "full", cancellation will not be possible unless there is an agreement with Caminhando.pt.
For events lasting more than 24 hours
For programmes in mainland Portugal, cancellations requested between 30 days and 15 days before the date of the trip will only be refunded at 25% of the total value of the event. Cancellations less than 15 days before the date of the event do not entitle you to a refund.
For programmes outside mainland Portugal amounts paid in advance will not be refunded, unless otherwise agreed with the client. If the programme involves flight tickets, the amounts paid will not be refunded.
Prazos de cancelamento para viagens fora de Portugal Continental com bilhetes de avião incluídos:
- Até 120 dias antes da data de viagem: devolução do valor integral da viagem
- Até 90 dias antes da data de viagem: devolução dos valores pagos, excepto o valor do bilhete de avião e custos de cancelamento
- Até 60 dias antes da data de viagem: dev0lução de 25% do valor da viagem, depois de deduzido o valor do bilhete de avião e custos de cancelamento
- Até 30 dias antes da data de viagem: devolução de 10% do valor da viagem, depois de deduzido o valor do bilhete de avião e custos de cancelamento
- A menos de 30 dias antes da data de viagem: não existe qualquer reembolso
However, there may still be specific conditions for each event. In any other case of late cancellation, please contact us. Caminhando is committed to always trying to find the best solution for each case.
Advance payment means all amounts paid, including the booking fee.
For programmes outside mainland Portugal, with land transport, cancellations that take place less than 45 days before the date of the event have a cancellation fee of 100€. Less than 30 days before the date of travel, the cancellation fee is €250. There is no right to a refund of the amount paid less than 15 days before the event.
The deadline for payment for journeys lasting more than 24 hours is no later than 60 days before the date of the journey. In the event that the amount has been requested and the client does not comply, José António Barão Machado Rodrigues, Citizen Card no. 9113908 and VAT no. 196840040 has the right to exclude the client from the trip, and the client does not have the right to request reimbursement of any amounts already paid.
Cancellation costs: In cases where the cancellation involves associated costs, these will be deducted from the amount to be refunded (costs of returning money, bank transfers or other costs, attracting other customers, money not returned by the accommodation, etc). The cancellation fee for these trips is €25 per participant.
Refund requested by the customer
If the customer requests a refund (due to postponement or cancellation by the service provider - José António Rodrigues) - Caminhando.pt, the refund must be made within a maximum of 30 days, after which time it is no longer possible to refund the amount in question.
As you can see from our diary, the proposed activities are not particularly high risk. However, we assure the team Walking that in our activities we endeavour to comply with all safety regulations, trying to reduce the level of risk.
To help us in this task, the co-operation of all the participants in the activities is essential, so everyone is expected to follow the rules of conduct and respect the safety rules, for the sake of each other and the group. O Walking cannot be held responsible for behaviour by participants in its activities that is inappropriate or that jeopardises the safety of the group or third parties.
Participants in the activities on the agenda of the WalkingBefore registering, you should read the description of the events very carefully and confirm that you are in good health (physically, psychologically and motivationally) to take part in them.
And last but not least, you must confirm that you know and accept the rules regarding the terms and conditions of participation in our activities. And then you just have to make the most of what we have to offer... after all, life is too short to do everything you like!
O Walking may use the photos or videos resulting from each activity for marketing and publicity purposes. If the participant does not authorise this, he/she must inform the Walking.
O Walking have taken out the following insurances, which are compulsory by law:
Civil Liability Insurance, which covers property and non-patrimonial damage to third parties and clients that may be attributed to us as a result of our activity.
- Insurance policy no. 203327208 from Allianz Portugal
Personal Accident Insurance, which protects all participants in our activities with the following cover:
- 27,282.000 Euros in the event of death or total and permanent invalidity
- 4,367.000 Euros, for treatment costs
- Insurance policy no. 203327198 from Allianz Portugal
Note 1: In the event of any occurrence, the claimant will be responsible for paying the excess amount, if defined in the insurance policy taken out.
Note 2: On boat trips, the insurances taken out apply to boarding and disembarking and inside the boat to the areas exclusively for passengers, excluding any other situations.
