Esta proposta de Caminhada tem inicio em Runa, e ao longo de 40 kms, o nosso percurso irá levar-nos a conhecer algumas das melhores panorâmicas da zona Oeste e a locais emblemáticos, como a Serra do Socorro. Um percurso exigente adequado a todos os grandes caminhantes. Mais um evento a não perder!

Chapel of Our Lady of Socorro

At the top of the Serra do Socorro, the Chapel of Our Lady of Socorro was built at the beginning of the 16th century. Manueline architectural elements are still preserved, namely the porch, the vaulted nave and the south side portal. Given its elevation, it was one of the sites chosen for the installation of a telegraph during the Peninsular War in 1810, allowing communication between the 1st and 2nd Lines of Torres Vedras. The village of Serra do Socorro and the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Socorro are classified as a Property of Public Interest. This place hosts an important pilgrimage on 5 August and is also one of the most important natural viewpoints in the Western Region. The Serra do Socorro Interpretive Centre is located in the area next to the Chapel and contains an exhibition area on the History and Heritage of Serra do Socorro, Visual Communications in the Peninsular War and the Serra do Socorro Telegraph.

Archeira Fort

O Forte da Archeira, localizado num local estratégico do sistema defensivo das Linhas de Torres (obra militar n.º 128), é uma estrutura de grande dimensão que pertencia à Primeira Linha Defensiva, a par com os fortes de Catefica e Feiteira, localizados um pouco mais a norte, cujo objetivo seria a defesa dos vales de Ribaldeira e Runa. Apresenta um perímetro de 436,48 m e uma área de cerca de 9.534,44 m2, estava munido com seis bocas-de-fogo (calibre 12) e uma guarnição de 500 homens.
