This Caminhando hike will take place along a route of great beauty, especially the Serra de Sicó, which we'll climb to the highest point, from where we'll have a fantastic panoramic view of both the Atlantic coast and the inland mountain ranges. Another event not to be missed!

Walking through the Serra de Sicó

This circular route will take us 13 kilometres up Monte de Vérigo, along a beautiful trail that runs along a valley of bushy vegetation and which, at our back, has a fantastic view of the sea, until we reach the wind farm.

We'll then follow a trail that skirts the slope of the highest point of the Serra de Sicó, passing the “tori” portal that for some marks the entrance to a spiritual place, until we reach the top of the Serra de Sicó, at 559M, already in the parish of Abiul, from where we'll enjoy the vertiginous views of the valley and further on the horizon to the mountain ranges of the Centre of Portugal.

We can rest here for a while and record the moment in the “SICÓ” spot at the top, next to the geodesic marker.

We then descend along a trail on the Great Sicó Route, until we reach Monte de Vérigo again, which we'll skirt along the poacher's trail to go and see the Pelariga Swing, which will take us back to the starting point via another footpath.
