On this proposed walk, we'll leave next to the Portuguese Pavilion in Parque das Nações and walk arm in arm with the River Tagus as far as the mouth of the River Trancão. From there, we'll continue inland, following the course of the river, and we'll walk along the Alpriate and Vialonga floodplains, along country lanes and trails that make us forget that we're still so close to Lisbon. At the end of our route, we'll be treated to the presence of the River Tagus and the magnificent Póvoa Riverside Linear Park, with its picnic area, beach and walkways. To get back to the starting point, we suggest taking the CP train, which will take you to Oriente Station in 15 minutes. Another event not to be missed!

Paths of the Tagus

As with the world-famous Caminhos de Santiago, pilgrims and tourists to Fátima have signposted routes to the town, such as the Caminho do Tejo. A footpath linking the city of Lisbon (Parque das Nações) to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fátima, it arose from the need to provide pilgrims with a safe and pleasant route. It is a leisurely route that uses ancient rural paths, from where you can enjoy a vast cultural and natural heritage.
