This activity proposal aims to provide a different day, full of points of interest, with short walks and visits to pleasant places of recognised historical and cultural value. On this day we'll visit the Budha Eden Garden / Quinta dos Loridos in Bombarral, and after lunch we'll visit the Salinas de Rio Maior, among other places in the region. Budha Eden / Quinta dos Loridos

Quinta dos Loridos in Bombarral is home to the largest oriental garden in Europe, the impressive Buddha Eden. Covering some 35 hectares, the "garden of peace" was created in response to the destruction of the Giant Buddhas of Bamyan in Afghanistan in 2001, in what was considered one of the greatest cultural saviours.

Between Buddhas, pagodas, terracotta statues and various sculptures carefully placed among the vegetation, it is estimated that more than 6,000 tonnes of marble and granite were used to build this monumental work.

Wine Tasting

During the visit to Quinta dos Loridos there will be a Wine Tasting.

Village of Carvalhal

A visit to the village where the filming of "Bem Vindos a Beirais" took place and a visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Carvalhal.

Rio Maior Salt Pans (Guided Tour)

The Salinas Naturais de Rio Maior are located at the foot of the Serra dos Candeeiros, three kilometres from Rio Maior.

These are compartments - butcher's shops - made of cement or stone, varying in size and shallow, into which the salt water that is drawn from a well is piped.
