On this event we will visit some of Lisbon's most interesting spots, such as the Amoreiras Garden, pass under the Triumphal Arch of the Águas Livres Aqueduct, visit the Estrela Garden and surrounding area, to the magnificent Estrela Basilica and end the morning on a guided tour of the Palmela Palace (now the Attorney General's Office) and get to know inside the halls with stucco reliefs highlighted with gold leaf, the magnificent rooms painted in trompe-l'oeil and the Garden, which received water directly from the Galeria do Loreto. Another event not to be missed!

Jardim da Estrela:

The Guerra Junqueiro Garden, known as the Estrela Garden, was built in the 19th century (1842) on the initiative of the statesman Bernardo da Costa Cabral, Marquis of Tomar. It is a naturalistic garden with a romantic design, inspired by the English type of park, surrounded by a railing, with very interesting vegetation, both in terms of quantity and diversity.

Estrela Basilica:

It is one of the most brilliant achievements of the late Baroque period, with the inclusion of neoclassical elements. The Estrela Basilica is the very pantheon of Queen Maria I, the only queen of the Bragança Dynasty who is not buried in the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.

Palmela Palace:

A building dating from the late 18th century, it was designed in 1792 by the architect Manuel Caetano de Sousa for his residence. Acquired at public auction in 1823 by Henrique Teixeira de Sampaio, the future 1st Count of Póvoa, the property was the subject of an intervention, possibly under the guidance of the architect Luigi Chiari, which resulted in the chapel, the noble staircase and, in general, its current appearance. By inheritance, the palace came into the possession of the Palmela family in the mid-19th century and underwent further work during this period, including the addition of the upper floor, the construction of the Sculpture Pavilion in the garden, the exterior panelling with pink marble stonework, the redesign of the main door, the construction of the access gate to the garden ramp, among others. In 1977, the property was acquired by the Ministry of Justice, which has housed the Attorney General's Office since 1980. Classified as being of Public Interest, this building reflects an eclectic architecture, whose main elevation is structured over 4 floors, with the main door standing out, with a curved lintel, flanked by 2 allegorical sculptures by A. Calmels, representing "Labour". Calmels, representing "Labour" and "Moral Force", the entrance crowned by a curved pediment, interrupted by the arms of the Dukes of Palmela, the projecting cornice that marks the passage to the top floor, the undulating balcony on the noble floor and the wrought iron work of the balcony railings. Inside, the beautifully decorated interior features paintings by Sequeira, Vieira Portuense and Vieira Lusitano, sculptures by Soares dos Reis and Teixeira Lopes, porcelain, earthenware and Limoges enamels, among others.
